- Your home family

Each household has its own point balance and settings.
Tasks & Chores

Can I approve my own task completions?
No. To keep things fair, you cannot approve your own task completions. Another household member must review and approve your work. This ensures accountability and prevents point abuse.
What if someone rejects my task completion?
If a task completion is rejected, you won't earn the points. The reviewer should provide a reason for rejection. You can:
- Redo the task and resubmit
- Discuss with your household member if you disagree
- Complete a different task instead
Remember, Brownie Pts works best when household members communicate openly!
Rewards
How do rewards work?
Rewards are things household members can "purchase" with their points. The person who creates the reward is responsible for fulfilling it. Examples:
- "Breakfast in bed" (100 points)
- "Pick the movie" (50 points)
- "Day off from dishes" (200 points)
- "Planning date night" (150 points)
How do I create a reward?
- Open your household
- Go to the Rewards tab
- Tap "Create Reward"
- Enter reward details:
- Title (required)
- Description
- Point cost
- Image (optional)
- Tap "Create"
Now other household members can purchase your reward with their points!
How do I purchase a reward?
- Browse available rewards
- Find one you want and have enough points for
- Tap "Request This Reward"
- Optionally add a note
- Submit the request
- Wait for the reward creator to approve
- Once approved, they'll schedule when to fulfill it
- Enjoy your reward!
What if I don't have enough points for a reward?
Keep completing tasks to earn more points! You can also:
- Check the activity feed to see high-value tasks
- Ask household members to create new tasks
- Receive point gifts from other members
Points System
How do I check my point balance?
Your point balance is displayed at the top of each household screen. You can also:
- View your balance on the home dashboard
- See transaction history in the Activity tab
- Track points across all your households
Can I gift points to other members?
Yes! Point gifting is a great way to show appreciation. To gift points:
- Go to your household
- Tap "Gift Points"
- Select the recipient
- Enter the point amount
- Add a custom message (optional)
- Send!
What happens if I run out of points?
You can have a negative point balance if you purchase rewards you don't have enough points for (and they get approved). Just complete more tasks to get back to positive!
Some households set rules about minimum balances - communicate with your household members about this.
Do points expire?
No! Points don't expire. They stay in your household balance indefinitely.

Tips & Best Practices
How should we decide point values?
This is up to your household! Here are some tips:
- Time-based: 10 points per 10 minutes of work
- Effort-based: Easy tasks (20-50), Medium (50-100), Hard (100-200+)
- Relative: Compare tasks - if dishes = 50, vacuuming might = 100
- Discuss together: Make sure everyone agrees values are fair
You can always adjust point values later!
What makes a good reward?
The best rewards are:
- Specific: "Plan next date night" vs "Do something nice"
- Achievable: Something you can actually fulfill
- Desirable: Something other members actually want
- Fair: Point cost matches the effort/value
Examples: Breakfast in bed, massage, pick the movie, skip a chore, cook dinner, plan an outing
How can we avoid household conflicts?
- Communicate: Discuss point values and expectations openly
- Be fair: Approve genuine completions, reject poor work politely
- Stay positive: Remember, it's supposed to be fun!
- Adjust together: If something isn't working, talk about it
- Use notes: Add context when approving/rejecting
