Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Brownie Pts! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Brownie Pts mobile application (the "App," "Service," or "Platform"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Definitions

• "We," "us," "our" refers to Brownie Pts, the operator of the App
• "You," "your," "user" refers to the person or entity using the App
• "Household" refers to a group of users who share tasks, rewards, and point transactions
• "Points" refers to the virtual currency used within the App for tracking contributions
• "Content" refers to any data, text, photos, or other materials submitted through the App

Eligibility

Age Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• Users under 13 may use the App only with parental consent and supervision
• Users under 18 should have parental permission to use the App

Account Requirements

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information
• You must maintain a valid email address
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must not share your account credentials with others

Account Registration and Security

Creating an Account

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Choose a secure password and keep it confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access
• You are responsible for all activities under your account

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Your account has been inactive for an extended period
• Required by law or legal request

Acceptable Use

You May

• Create and join households with people you know
• Create tasks, rewards, and manage points within your households
• Upload photos as proof of task completion (appropriate content only)
• Gift points to other household members
• Use the App for personal, non-commercial household management

You May Not

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or systems
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without permission
• Sell, transfer, or share your account with others
• Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for personal gain
• Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the App

Content Standards

All content you submit must:

• Be truthful and not misleading
• Not contain illegal, offensive, or inappropriate material
• Not infringe on others' intellectual property rights
• Not contain spam, advertising, or promotional content (unless it's a reward!)
• Be appropriate for all household members to see

Virtual Points System

Nature of Points

• Points cannot be exchanged for money, goods, or services outside the App
• Points are not transferable between households without app functionality
• Points are earned and spent within the household ecosystem only

Point Transactions

• Points are earned by completing approved tasks
• Points are spent by purchasing approved rewards
• Points can be gifted to other household members
• All transactions are recorded and visible to household members
• We reserve the right to adjust points if fraud or abuse is detected

No Gambling or Real Money

• The App is not a gambling platform
• No real money, goods, or services are exchanged for points
• Points are purely for household management and gamification

User Content

Your Content

• You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, text, etc.)
• You grant us a license to use, store, and display your content to provide the Service
• We may use aggregated, anonymized data for analytics and improvements
• You represent that you have the right to submit the content

Content License

By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to:

• Store and process your content on our servers
• Display your content to other household members
• Use your content to provide and improve the Service
• Create derivative works (e.g., thumbnails, compressed versions)

This license terminates when you delete your content or account (subject to backup retention periods).

Prohibited Content

You may not upload:

• Explicit sexual content or nudity
• Violence, gore, or graphic content
• Hate speech or discriminatory content
• Content depicting illegal activities
• Private or confidential information about others
• Copyrighted material you don't have rights to
• Spam, malware, or phishing attempts

Households

Creating Households

• You may create multiple households
• You set the rules for your household (point values, tasks, rewards)
• You are responsible for who you invite to your household

Joining Households

• You may join households by entering an invite code
• By joining, you agree to participate in that household's system
• You can view other members' activity and balances

Household Management

• Admins have elevated permissions (deleting tasks, removing members)
• All members can create tasks and rewards
• Members cannot approve their own task completions or reward purchases
• You can leave a household at any time

Household Conduct

• Treat other household members with respect
• Don't abuse the point system (e.g., creating fake tasks)
• Communicate openly about point values and rewards
• Resolve disputes within your household first

Intellectual Property

Our Rights

The App and its content (excluding user content) are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws. This includes:

• App design, layout, and user interface
• App logo, name, and branding
• Source code and software
• Documentation and help content

Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on your personal devices
• Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Access and use features as intended

This license does not allow you to:

• Modify, copy, or create derivative works
• Sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the App
• Reverse engineer or extract source code
• Remove copyright or proprietary notices

Trademarks

"Brownie Pts" and related marks are our trademarks. You may not use them without permission.

Disclaimers

No Warranties

This includes warranties of:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness
• Non-infringement
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation

Use at Your Own Risk

• We do not guarantee the App will meet your requirements
• We do not guarantee the App will be available at all times
• We do not guarantee the App is free of bugs, viruses, or errors
• We are not responsible for data loss or corruption
• You are responsible for backing up your data if needed

Household Disputes

• We are not responsible for disputes within households
• We do not mediate point-related disagreements
• You are responsible for managing your household relationships
• We cannot recover deleted or modified data from household disputes

Limitation of Liability

No Liability for Damages

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY:

• Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Damages resulting from use or inability to use the App
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
• Damages resulting from errors, bugs, or interruptions
• Damages resulting from third-party services

Maximum Liability

If we are found liable for any damages, our total liability shall not exceed the greater of:

• $100 USD, or
• The amount you paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0, as the App is free)

Modifications to Service and Terms

Changes to the App

We may at any time:

• Modify, update, or discontinue features
• Add new features or functionality
• Change how the App works
• Introduce new terms or policies

Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Showing an in-app notification
• Sending an email for significant changes

Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you don't agree, you must stop using the App.

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution

Before formal proceedings, contact us at support@example.com to resolve disputes informally. We will attempt to resolve issues in good faith.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Jurisdiction

You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in England and Wales for disputes arising from these Terms or the App.

Time Limitation

You must bring any claims within one (1) year of the cause of action arising.

Apple App Store Terms

Acknowledgment

If you download the App from the Apple App Store:

• Apple is not a party to these Terms
• We (not Apple) are responsible for the App
• Apple has no obligation to provide support
• Apple is not responsible for any claims related to the App
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms

Scope of License

Your license to use the App is limited to a non-transferable license on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
